TRAVEL INFORMATION
The conference will be held at Kyoto University in Kyoto, the most beautiful and historical city in Japan. The nearest airport to Kyoto is Kansai International Airport (KIX); it is well connected from major international airports in the world. From there, Kyoto is conveniently reached by train in about 75 min (Limited Express 'Haruka') or by Airport shuttle services. From Tokyo it takes 2.5 hours by bullet train "Shinkansen".
For participants who arrive at Narita International Airport (NRT), there is also a JR Railway service from the Airport to Kyoto via Tokyo station.
From KIX to Kyoto by Shared taxi (recommended)：
Airport shuttle services (shared taxi) are recommended for transportation from Kansai International Airport (KIX) to your hotels in Kyoto. Online reservation is available (JPY 3,500/person).
From KIX to Kyoto by Railway：
Express Haruka of the JR line directly links the airport to JR Kyoto station (Approx 75 min, JPY3,000/person).
From NRT to Kyoto by Railway：
JR Narita Express (N'EX )will bring you directly to Tokyo station (JPY 2,940). Then you can take the Shinkansen from Tokyo to Kyoto. Follow the signs to the Narita Train Station and buy tickets for your entire journey to Kyoto at the JR Ticket office. You can use cash or credit card.
